News & Announcements Posted on January 24, 2026 | Last Updated on January 27, 2026

City of Marshall offices, including City Hall, Municipal Court, Water Billing and Public Library will be closed on Wednesday, Jan. 28, 2026.

Drivers are reminded to prioritize safety. Roadway conditions through the Harrison County area continue to be icy. The Marshall Police Department is asking the public to stay off the roadway unless travel is absolutely necessary.

There will be no garbage or recycling pick up on Wednesday. Republic estimates scheduled pickup to resume Thursday. Bulk and Recycling pickup has been canceled for the week. Place your bin at the curb on Thursday and leave it there until emptied. Also note: The Convenience Station will be closed on Wednesday.

The City of Marshall Emergency Operations Center has been activated and continues to monitor weather-related impacts on public safety.

A Warming Center is open at 700 Spring Street to provide shelter to anyone in need. Volunteers are needed at the Warming Center. Call 832-722-4964 if you would like to sign up. Hours of Operation are as follows:

  • 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, January 28, 2026

PUBLIC SAFETY UPDATE: Roads are still coated with ice even in areas that may appear safe. If you must travel, slow your speed. Traffic lights and stop signs must still be obeyed. If you have difficulty stopping at a traffic light or stop sign, you are driving too fast.
