City of Marshall to Open Warming Center

      The City of Marshall will open a Warming Center at 8 a.m. Saturday, January 24, 2026. It will be located at the Smith Community Center, 700 Spring St. in Marshall. 

       The Warming Center will provide temporary shelter from the extreme winter weather forecast for the northeast Texas area. It will serve the homeless, stranded travelers and vulnerable residents.

       Marshall City Council member Dathaniel Campbell is helping the city to coordinate volunteers. Volunteers are asked to sign up for four-hour time slots. The dates and times are as follows. 

  • 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday, January 24, 2026
  • 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday, January 25, 2026 
  • 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, January 26, 2026
  •  8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, January 27, 2026
