The City of Marshall’s Human Resources Division recruits, selects, and hires individuals for all city departments.  Additionally, this department is also responsible for:

  • Insurance
  • Personnel record keeping
  • Retirement
  • Salary administration
  • Unemployment claims and appeals

Human Resources also monitors compliance with many legal statutes such as:

  • Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)
  • Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA)
  • Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA)
  • Police/Fire Civil Service
  • Title VII anti-discrimination statues
  • Administrative Reviews in accordance with the Texas Transportation Code, Chapter 707
