Marshall Proposes Design Standards

Downtown Proposed Design Standards

As a component of the Downtown Redevelopment, the City of Marshall seeks to implement Phase Two to establish design standards to preserve downtown's historical heritage.

These design standards were reviewed and unanimously approved by the Historic Landmark Preservation Board and the Main Street Board. On February 15, 2021, at 6:00 p.m., the City of Marshall’s Planning and Zoning Commission held a Public Hearing and voted unanimously to make a recommendation to the City Council for an ordinance of the City of Marshall, amending provisions of Section 32, “Zoning Ordinance” Creating a Historic Sub-district within the downtown area.

For more information about the design standards or the proposed sub-district, please visit, contact John Clark, Planner, or Fabio Angell, Director of Community & Economic Development, at (903) 935-4456.
