Seed Library @ MPL

Seed Library

The Marshall Public Library will soon be boasting more than just books.  A community seed library will be offered at the library for anyone interested in growing vegetables, flowers, and herbs from seeds.  The library will initially feature a wide variety of seeds thanks to donations by Baker Creek Heirloom Seed Company, Ferry-Morse Seed Company, and Park Seed Company.

The grand opening for the seed library will be on Saturday, January 28 at 10:30 am. The community is invited to come and learn more about the program.   A representative from the Green Thumbs Up Garden Club will speak about garden pollinators.   Following the presentation, there will be a ribbon cutting and door prizes.

The community will be invited to select up to 5 packets of seeds to take home.  Planting information will be available.  To keep the seed library budding,  gardeners are encouraged to collect seeds and donate seeds back to the seed library following the growing season.  Seeds from other sources are also acceptable to donate.
