PRESS RELEASE - SHOOTING
On August 4, 2015, at 12:01 AM, the Marshall Police Department received a 911 call stating there was a black male lying in the roadway at the intersection of Ralph and Stanley Streets.
Upon arrival, patrol officers located Anton Christopher Colton, 11/01/1981, who had been shot several times. Marshall Fire Department EMS was dispatched to the scene and was unable to revive Colton. Harrison County Precinct 2 Justice of the Peace Clarice Watkins was called to the scene and pronounced Colton deceased. Detectives with the Marshall Police Department Criminal Investigations Bureau were dispatched and are currently investigating this death.
Chief Jesus “Eddie” Campa stated, “Our detectives worked through the night and are still investigating this death. I am asking the citizens of Marshall to assist us in apprehending those responsible for this crime.
