Chief Jesus “Eddie” Campa is proud to announce that Officer Stacy Roach has been named this week’s Marshall Police Department MVP.
On July 5, 2015, while conducting a traffic stop on a brown pick-up truck, Officer Roach located a backpack that contained several baggies of marijuana.  During his investigation of the truck, Officer Roach noticed a suspicious vehicle driving in the area of his traffic stop. With the assistance of back-up from fellow officers, Roach was able to get the second vehicle stopped.  In the second vehicle, Officer Roach discovered a loaded .22 revolver under the passenger seat, which had been reported stolen out of Panola County.
Officer Roach made five arrests, recovered a stolen firearm and seized marijuana from the traffic stops.   Two of the individuals arrested also had active Marshall Police Department traffic warrants.
Chief Jesus “Eddie” Campa stated, “Officer Roach is commended for his alertness and quick-thinking during both stops.  Officer Roach was able to get a firearm and a sizable amount of marijuana off the street, in addition to making five arrests.  This is a fine example of our officers going above and beyond during both stops. It is my honor to work with men like Officer Roach.”
