PRESS RELEASE - Hit and Run Pedestrian Accident
Marshall Police Department officers responded to a hit and run call at 1:19 a.m. Saturday, July 18, 2015 at Caddo Street and Victory Drive.
Officers and emergency units from the Marshall Fire Department arrived on the scene where a black female pedestrian had been reportedly struck, as she entered the street, by a light-colored Toyota.
According to reports from witnesses, the vehicle fled the scene, turning north on Caddo Street. Officers began searching for the vehicle. During this time, a call was received to the Marshall Police Department Dispatch from a local resident who stated his wife believed that she may have been in an accident involving a pedestrian. The resident requested an officer to his residence.
Upon arrival, investigation of the vehicle revealed shattered windshield glass. Marshall Police Department Crime Scene Investigations, Criminal Investigation Bureau and Traffic Units were dispatched to the scenes to assist with the investigation. The pedestrian was transported to the Good Shepherd Medical Center in Marshall for her injuries. The extent of her injuries was unknown as of Sunday afternoon.
The accident is still currently under investigation so no further details are available.
