Press Release - Escapees
On April 8, 2015, Marshall Police Department was advised of three juvenile escapees that were possibly in or around the Marshall area. Members of the Marshall Police Department’s Patrol Bureau; Criminal Investigations Bureau as well as the Criminal Apprehension Team partnered with the Upshur County Sherriff’s Department in an effort to apprehend the juveniles.
The three juveniles absconded from the Gulf Coast Trade Center which is a Texas Youth
Correctional Facility, located in New Waverly, Texas.
At approximately 3:42 pm, MPD Communications received information that the juveniles were possibly in or around the 1300 block of W. Pinecrest. While en route a member of the Criminal Investigations Bureau checked out with a juvenile at the corner of Calvert and Scenic Loop. After further investigation, the juvenile was place under arrest for Escape. Shortly there after the other two juveniles were located in the Brookshire’s parking lot and placed under arrest for as well. The juveniles were transported to the Willoughby Juvenile Detention Center, where custody was transferred to the care of the detention staff without incident.
