ARRESTED: Anterra Gatson, 30 (Source: Harrison County Jail)
A Marshall woman is facing serious charges for allegedly intentionally driving her vehicle into a local elementary school. On April 11, 2018 at approximately 12:30 p.m. officers with the Marshall Police Department (MPD) and Marshall Independent School District Police Department (MISD PD) responded to Price T. Young Elementary School on reports that a vehicle had crashed into a classroom. The driver, identified as 30-year-old Anterra Gatson, was transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Although there was extensive damage to the building, no students or staff were injured during this incident. As a result of a joint investigation between MISD PD and MPD, it is believed that Gatson intentionally crashed her car into the building. Gatson was arrested on Thursday, May 10 and booked into the Harrison County Jail where she is charged with Felony Criminal Mischief and Attempted Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon. Her bond is set at $30,000 on the Criminal Mischief charge and $75,000 on the Attempted Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon charge.
