ARRESTED: James Rashard Singleton, 25

The man responsible for an incident at a local fast food restaurant that left two law enforcement officers injured is behind bars. James Rashard Singleton, 25, of Marshall,
surrendered to detectives at the Marshall Police Department on Monday, February 5, 2018, shortly before noon. Singleton was booked into the Harrison County Jail where he is charged with Disorderly Conduct, Resisting Arrest and Evading Arrest.
 
On Saturday, February 3, at approximately 3:55 a.m., Singleton entered the Whataburger located at 2010 Victory Drive in Marshall and attempted to fight with another person inside the restaurant. A Marshall Police Officer, who was working security at the restaurant, attempted to apprehend Singleton. A Harrison County Sheriff’s Deputy was also at the restaurant during the incident and assisted the officers. Singleton resisted
authorities and during a scuffle with officers, broke a window in the restaurant. Singleton then fled the scene. The officer and deputy suffered minor cuts during the incident. They
were both treated on the scene by Marshall EMS.
