NEWS RELEASE: MPD SWAT Team Executes Warrants
The Marshall Police Department’s Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) Team executed search warrants at two residences in Marshall that resulted in the seizure of multiple firearms. The search warrants were executed at approximately 6:00 a.m. on Friday, May 4, 2018 in the 900 block of Johnson Street and 800 block of Higgins Street. The SWAT Team also executed an arrest warrant in the 1200 block of Elysian Fields Avenue. The warrants were issued after a lengthy investigation into suspected drug activity and gun violence in the area. As a result, four firearms were seized, including an assault rifle. Also seized was approximately 8 grams of crack-cocaine, Ecstasy and approximately $2,200 in U.S. currency.
Those arrested and charged are as follows:
Waymond Alfred Darty, Jr., 39 – Charged with Delivery of a Controlled Substance PG 1>1g<4g Drug Free Zone and Delivery of a Controlled Substance PG 1 >1g Drug Free Zone.
Kerry Deshun Taylor, 36 – Charged with two counts Delivery of a Controlled Substance PG 1 > 1g <4g, Possession of a Controlled Substance PG 1 > 4g <200g, Unlawful Possession of a Firearm and Tampering with Identification Numbers.
Cameron Rafael Clay, 29 – Delivery of a Controlled Substance PG 1 < 1g and two Marshall Police Department traffic warrants.
Angelo Maurice Warren, 57, was also arrested as part of the investigation. He was taken into custody in the 700 block of Atkins Boulevard. Warren is charged with Delivery of a Controlled Substance PG 1 > 1g < 4g and Delivery of a Controlled Substance PG 1 < 1g.
All four men were booked into the Harrison County Jail.
