NEWS RELEASE: MPD Restructuring Training Advisory Board
The Marshall Police Department is restructuring its current Training Advisory Board and is seeking new community members to serve on the board. The purpose and function of the Training Advisory Board is to provide guidance to the department’s training coordinator, including but not limited to, curriculum and other training needs. As a member of the board, citizens are required to be available for meetings which will occur no less than twice a year. Serving as a member of the board for a law enforcement training provider carries with it a duty and responsibility that will impact the professional development of those who serve in a law enforcement capacity and the community in which the law enforcement agency serves.
Those interested in a seat on the Training Advisory Board are encouraged to return completed applications to the Marshall Police Department located at 2101 East End Boulevard North, Marshall, TX. All applications must be submitted by November 26. The Chief of Police will make the final decision regarding the appointment of new board members. The selected citizens will be contacted prior to the training session and first meeting date that is tentatively slated for December 7, 2018. The meeting will not be open to the public or media.
