NEWS RELEASE: Car Crashes Into Building
The Marshall Police Department is investigating a single-vehicle crash that sent one person to the hospital. On Wednesday, January 17, at approximately 6:30 a.m., officers responded to the 100 block of W. Grand Ave. near N. Washington Ave. on reports that a car had crashed into a building. Preliminary reports suggest that the driver of a Nissan Sentra was traveling east on W. Grand Ave. at an unsafe speed for the current road conditions when the driver lost control, went airborne and crashed into a vacant building. The driver of the car was transported to Good Shepherd Medical Center in Marshall with what are believed to be minor injuries. The building sustained major damage. The crash remains under investigation.
Drivers are, again, urged to please slow down during these winter weather conditions. While the roads are significantly better than Tuesday, black ice continues to be problematic on the roadways.
