Marshall Consolidation Saves Funds 13February2020
Marshall City Manager Mark Rohr announces the merger of the Department of Support Services and the Department of Public Works effective Monday, February 17, 2020.
Under the reorganization plan, the City of Marshall will realize an annual net savings of $133,414 with the elimination of the Support Services Director position, an administrative position, and the closing of the Annex building located at 303 West Burleson Street. This cost savings plan also allows for the addition of a full-time employee to the Community Appearance Crew and a part-time administrative assistant as well as reassignment of all existing employees within the City of Marshall. The savings of this move will allow the city to run more efficiently while allowing us to reinvest those funds into city infrastructure, which was the underlying theme to the citizen-driven Mobilize Marshall plan.
