2017 T MOBILE MARSHALL LIONS WONDERLAND OF LIGHTS – ANNOUNCEMENT OF ANNUAL PARADE AWARDS
 
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – RECOGNITION OF PARADE AWARDS FOR THE 2017 ANNUAL T MOBILE MARSHALL LIONS WONDERLAND OF LIGHTS PARADE
 
The revised weather date was perfect for the 2017 Annual T Mobile Marshall Lions Wonderland of Lights Parade and resulted in a great crowd downtown which viewed over 80 some entries consisting of different lighted cars, trucks, floats, trailers, dance and marching teams – capped off by the arrival of Santa.
 
As part of the Annual Lighted Wonderland Parade, awards are presented in eight (8) categories, which were judged by our panel of celebrity judges:
 
Jerry Pye, Marshall News Messenger’s Regional Publisher
Wes Morrison, City of Marshall
Stormy Nickerson, Greater Marshall Chamber of Commerce
 
Ashli Acker Dansby, with KMHT Radio, transmitted a live description of the parade and entries.
 
The Marshall Convention & Visitors Bureau and the City of Marshall want to express our sincere thanks to all of the 2017 parade participants, as well as to all of the volunteers, city staff, and patrol officers who assisted in the parade! Special thanks are also extended to the Marshall Police Department for crowd and traffic control, Marshall Fire Department for our emergency action plan and to the City of Marshall Public Works and Water Utility Departments for the excellent assistance in lining up the numerous parade entries; a “Well Done” goes out to all!

1st Place – Rusty Lug Nuts of Marshall, Texas
 
Best Lighted Truck/Float:
1st Place – Perry's Hometown Flooring of Marshall, Texas
 
Most Unique Entry:
1st Place – Stripe-A-Zone of Hallsville, Texas
 
Best Agricultural Entry:
1st Place – Panola Orchard and Gardens of De Berry, Texas
 
Best Overall Lighted Entry:
1st Place – Crossroads Baptist Church of Marshall, Texas
 
Best Equine/Horse Team:
1st Place – Bayou Trail Blazers of Shreveport, Louisiana
 
Congratulations to all of the awarded entries, and we encourage all of the 2017 parade entries to return again next year!!!
