National Night Out 2016

National Night Out (NNO) for all residents of Marshall and Harrison County is set for Tuesday, October 4th, 2016 in downtown Marshall on the square (100 W Houston St. Marshall, TX). NNO is a communitybuilding campaign started by the National Association of Town Watch that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make our neighborhoods a safer, better place to live. NNO enhances the relationship between neighbors and law enforcement while bringing back a true sense of community and provides a great opportunity to bring police and neighbors together under positive circumstances.
NNO is designed to heighten crime and drug prevention awareness, generate support for (and participation in) local anticrime programs, strengthen neighborhood spirit, and establish police-community partnerships. We encourage you to get involved and send a message to criminals that neighborhoods are organized and fighting back. Several businesses and organization in the Marshall/Harrison County Area have gotten involved in this event and are going to be providing everything from free food and face painting to bounce houses and a dunking booth. There will be performances from two MISD choirs and the Texas Rage all star cheer team. Chief Jesus “Eddie” Campa will give a speech and there will be demos from MPD SWAT and MPD K9 unit.
Marshall Fire Dept. will be there as well giving a “jaws of life” demo.
We invite any media outlet that wishes to cover this event to join us on October 4th, 2016 from 6pm-8pm on the downtown square.
