Employees and Citizens Recognized
The Marshall Police Department today recognized Peggy Abraham as Employee of the Fourth Quarter of 2014, and Lt. John Johnson as Officer of the Fourth Quarter.
MPD also presented the Lifesaving Hero award to Trent Sparks, who saved the life of 83-year-old Sarah Harper when she was being viciously attacked by two dogs in early February. Sparks not only took action to get the dogs away from Harper, but also called 9-1-1. In the process of trying to stop the attack, he even caused damage to his own vehicle, but told KMHT, "I wasn't worried about that at all." Sparks said Ms. Harper had been his day care teacher more than 20 years ago. Sparks is to be commended for his bravery and selflessness in helping Ms. Harper.
