The Assistant Director of Public Works is responsible for the daily maintenance of ditches and drainage in the street right-of-way, street storm water structures, and creeks.

Engineering assists in the management, planning, design, and construction of City utility infrastructure, assists developers of construction projects, maintains mapping of all FEMA flood control elevations and locations, maintains mapping of all city facilities and water/wastewater infrastructure, and provides survey locations of water and wastewater piping as well as issuing driveway and culvert permits.
Solid Waste & Recycling Services:

Residential and Commercial solid waste and recycling services, including roll-off and construction waste debris services, and recycling educational programs are provided by Republic Services under a contractual agreement with the City of Marshall.
The City of Marshall offers a Convenience Station (for residents) located at 2300 Five Notch Road; open Monday - Friday, from 8:00 am - 4:00 pm; and 8:00 a.m. - noon on Saturday. Call 903-935-1004 for information or click this link – Convenience Station.
Street Maintenance Operations:

The Assistant Director of Public Works is responsible for the daily operation of street maintenance, patching, and repairs.
Street Sign/Traffic Signal Maintenance and Installation:

Maintains all street and traffic control signs on city streets in the City of Marshall; and all traffic signals at city intersections. (Traffic signals at intersections on state highways 59, 80, 43, and 31 are maintained by the Texas Department of Transportation).
Street Lights – Outages or New Requests:
Street light outage - Call AEP/SWEPCO at 800-218-3919; the pole number (obtained from the oval shaped metal tag located on the street side of the pole) or the street name and block number will be required.
