Water Fee Schedule Additional Fees
(Effective 03/04/08)
 
Transfer Fee (Transfer of residential account)
A $15.00 transfer fee will be charged to turn on a water meter at one location and off at another location in connection with the transfer of service from one service address to another service address.
 
Reconnect Fee:
A $45.00 nonrefundable reconnect fee will be charged to any customer reconnecting to the water system after a delinquent account has been disconnected for non-payment.  (If billing department personnel arrive at a customer's residence on the day that a cut-off is to be performed for past due or NSF accounts and the customer requests an extension of time to pay the amount due, a $25.00 trip fee will be assessed in addition to any other fees or charges.
 
Meter Reset Fee:
A $45.00 non-refundable meter rest fee will be charged to any customer where the meter has to be reset after a delinquent account has been disconnected.
 
Temporary Turn-On Fee:
A $15.00 fee will be charged to any customer requesting service to be temporarily connected, allowing a maximum of 30 days of water usage.  Applicable usage rates will be applied.
 
Temporary Cut-Off Service Fee:
A $15.00 fee will be charged to any customer who requests that his service cut-off for emergency purposes Monday thru Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
 
After Hour Service Fee:
A $45.00 fee will be charged to any customer who requests any water related service after 5:00 p.m. Monday thru Friday, on weekends, or holidays.
 
Meter Testing/Exchange Fee:
A $75.00 fee will be charged for having a flow testing service representative test a meter for accuracy, 1 inch or smaller, if the meter is found to be within industry tolerances (AWWA standards).  If the meter is found to be outside the industry tolerances, it will be replaced at no charge to the customer.  The fees for all testing and replacements of meter sizes above 1 inch shall be determined by the Director of Public Works based on the prevailing cost for meter testing, replacement materials, and labor.
 
Meter Audit Fee:
A $50.00 fee will be charged to a customer requesting an audit of their water meter; whereby the meter is read a minimum of four (4) times, at varying periods of a day, within the monthly meter reading schedule to help determine peak usage, possible surges, or loss within the private water system.
 
Meter Reread/High Bill Check Fee:
No fee shall be charged for a customer's first request for a meter rereading/high bill check.  If no problem is found and the customer requests a second investigation within six (6) months of the initial request, a $15.00 fee will be assessed.  Upon the next request, the following options are available:
  • Service center testing of meter (charges will be according to fee listed above).
  • Auditing the meter readings (charges will be according to fee listed above).
Return Trip Service Fee:
A $15.00 fee will be charged to any customer who missed the initial scheduled water service appointment and requests a return trip to provide the requested service.
 
Meter Tampering Fee:
A $100.00 fee will be charged to any customer whose service has been tampered with in the following manner:
  • Meter lock broken.
  • Curb stop damaged or broken.
  • Dialog damaged or disconnected.
  • Meter lock removed.
  • Meter stolen.
  • Unauthorized connection inserted.
Theft of Water Service:
Theft of water service refers to any customer who reconnects the water service in any way after the City has disconnected the water for nonpayment of delinquent bill.  In addition to the amount of the delinquent bill, the "Reconnect Fee", the "Meter Reset Fee" (if applicable), and the "Meter Tampering Fee" shall be paid before water service will be reconnected.
 
Nothing in the preceeding shall be construed to prevent the City from pursuing civil or criminal penalties to the maximum allowed by local and state laws against any person or parties tampering with, damaging, and/or using water service without authorization.
