The Marshall Police Department incorporated the
D.A.R.E. program in 1990. The D.A.R.E. program teaches young people the importance of drug,
tobacco, and alcohol awareness and gives them the tools they need to combat peer pressure and
bullying as they grow into teenagers. The Marshall Police Department, along with the
Marshall Independent
School District and Trinity Episcopal School, provides instruction in the D.A.R.E. program to
the fifth grade classes each year. The D.A.R.E. program is currently instructed by Officer
Mark Warden, who has been with the Marshall Police Department since 2001.
